Jess and Yumin looked after me so well on their wedding day –  like I was part of the family! A big thank you to you both – very much appreciated!

The caterer, a former employee/trainee of Jamie Oliver put together a little picnic box for me to consume over the course of the day. There’s nothing like having home made macaroons, roast beef sandwiches and scones with lashings of vanilla clotted cream + jam to keep those energy levels up!

One of my favourite venues,  The Establishment Studios in Prahran is where Jess and Yumin tied the knot. Followed by the Tea Ceremony, we all just chilled through the day. The time line and structure of the day was so well thought out that it wasn’t a mad dash from one thing to the next. I love a cruisy wedding, less stress.

With the reception up at Comme, the final gastronomic delight was the Pork Belly! I swear, I have never ever, ever had Pork Belly this good! I worked as a Chef for quite a few years and the texture and density of the crackle was spot on! The meat was so tender, it was dissolving on the plate. Partnered with a lovely acidic Jus sauce , the 2 flavours were perfectly matched providing an almost full palette experience! This is the fifth wedding I’ve shot at Comme. Every time I know I’m shooting at Comme, my fingers are crossed, hoping that the Pork Belly will be on the menu. Bravo Chef. And we can’t forget the Yum Sing.  It’s the Chinese equivalent of a toast where everyone present charges their glass and yell out, Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum Sing, dragging out the “Yum” part for as long as you can.
