Jewish weddings in Melbourne
First of all, I’ve got to admit, I love Jewish weddings in Melbourne. The energy, the spirituality is like no other. It truly is a simcha celebration, Mazeltov!
Also as a heads up, this is a long blog post, it just had to be! Throwing in a bunch of stylised, editorial shots would not of done this day justice!
Ellie & Luke, you two are such gorgeous souls, so much warmth, so much light.
(Luke was kind enough to flick this through to me.)
From Luke : Ellie and Luke first met in High School, but reconnected properly as friends in 2012 while volunteering together in a community youth movement. It wasn’t until December in 2012 that the relationship started to build romantically, when Luke invited Ellie to attend a party with him. After sharing a few drinks, dances and DnM’s, both Ellie and Luke started to consider what life would be like if they were to start a relationship together.
The first 6 months of the relationship was anything but usual, punctuated with 5-months long distance, 2 family weddings, and an overseas trip together. But both Luke and Ellie agree that they wouldn’t trade it for the world, since it was the unique foundation that allowed for their unique relationship to follow.
From Ellie : “My engagement ring and the necklace that I will put on after the ceremony was also hers
The bedeken chair I am using was this fancy chair she had custom made – we were never allowed to sit on them. My grandmother loved very nice things haha (Sounds familiar:))
The two kiddish cups that we are using under the chuppah to drink the wine are both my late grandfathers. One of which was also buried during the holocaust and brought to Australia after he survived the glass that Luke will be stepping on is Luke’s late grandfathers set of cups. His grandmother has given one cup to each grandchild to step on under the chuppah
So there you have it! A big Mazeltov to Luke, Ellie and all their families!
